The Western and the Eurasian
societies are like two half’s of the world pie. If something happens in one
part then the other one automatically gets affected. In history the two halves were divided on geographical
basis but with time the division has
become dependent on the half
which is progressing better.
Discussing the occidental society first i.e. the
western society, it mostly comprises of the developed nations such as United States of America which is
assumed to think way beyond than what a
brain can in Southern Sudan. Western
societies are more progressed, technically advanced and self dependent. They
are economically well off to be self reliant.
Whereas the oriental society or say the east (Eurasia comprises of Europe and
Asia where a part of Europe plays a role of the occident such as Germany, England) has been waiting in the queue to be a part of the
developed lot. India and China are good examples of these
developing nations. The Eurasian society is in the middle of
what the west has achieved.
But the two societies have
differences which has made them what they are today. Eurasia has more than 72 %
of world’s population which is huge in number yet they carry their tradition
very well. Be it an English or a Japanese, they willingly follow their family
traditions. They still believe in the family values and thus most of their work
is family oriented. But in the western society individuals have a very strong
independent character which comes due to absence of family culture. This is a
major difference between the two societies.
The Eurasians are considered to
be more conservative than the westerners. It shows up in their day to day
practices. Be it clothing, relationships, work or adventure, they feel a little
hesitant in going out of the league and trying new things.
Materialism is a matter of great
attraction for the western society as they prioritise it in their list. For an
instance, technical advancement. An iphone
is a must for the Americans despite of the fact that at this point of time
they are bankrupt. This feeling of
having more of everything is a little less in the Eurasians. Most of the
developing or underdeveloped nations which falls in the Eurasian society has
either never seen an iphone or are
satisfied with a basic model which is enough for communication. Call it a
satisfactory attitude.
The Eurasian society has a rich
spiritual connect irrespective of the fact that they have uncountable numbers
of religions to follow. The Western society lags behind in this game of
divinity leading to a disconnect between the two worlds.
There are many other problems
amongst the two societies which will prevail as they have always been. But a
solution can come with a change in mindset and a feeling of acceptance. Then we will be able to see an integrated one
world.
Nice, but too many generalisations.
